New Corporate Integration LuxSpan International Inc. announces its conversion from a distributor of fiber optic products to a trading and outsourcing company. Campbell, CA, Oct 19, 2004—Cipher Opticwave Technology today announced its new name, LuxSpan International Inc., and its conversion from a distributor of fiber optic components and equipment to a trading and sourcing company.
Cipher Opticwave Technology was established to meet the increasing demand for innovative, high performance, and low cost fiber optic components and subsystems. However, during the stage when Cipher grew, telecommunication market crashed. There were near-term challenges for the entire telecommunication industry.
Responding to changes in the market, many large businesses in the industry moved their facilities to low-cost countries to reduce labor cost. Many small to medium sized businesses chose countries including China and India for their outsourcing. Business owners soon concluded that outsourcing had saved their businesses and enabled them to regain the competitive edge.
In this ever-changing industry, Cipher, the dynamic firm, also quickly responded to change. In August 2001, COT opened an international sales office in Shanghai, China. Launching the sales office made full use of low-cost resources, thereby providing more values to Cipher customers.
While quickly responded to the market needs, Cipher management teams spend considerable time conducting marketing research and visiting manufacturers. Eventually, Cipher developed a new business model and began to strategically develop and expand the firm. It changed its name to LuxSpan International, Inc. —spanning the globe to find the best price for its clients.
"Our business model is based on our mission. That is, we make it easier for companies to achieve operational effectiveness and economy of scales by realizing low-cost and high-quality products with short-lead time." says Samuel Wang, President of LuxSpan, China, "We also strive to build lasting and beneficial alliances with each of our partners – and to exceed their expectations, consistently." he added.
“LuxSpan is helping me to source direct manufacturers producing computer components in China,” Says Ross Borge, CEO of Planet Rom, distributor computer peripherals and multimedia products. "I constantly seek ways to increase profit through overseas channel without leaving the U.S. I am so glad LuxSpan is there to help me.”
“We recognize the enormous potential of LuxSpan's contribution in expanding our local economy. We welcome LuxSpan.” Says Yuzhong Wang, Vice Director of Port Affairs office, China Customs, in Qingdao, China.
